What at team! What a great program!

It was a privilege watching the Lady Railroaders during this season.  With the loss of long time Coach Dan Feagler and assistant Craig Kelham, most people would look at this as a rebuilding year. But, Coach Lapadot and our wonderful 3 seniors had different thoughts. We had another great season. Even with moving up to class 3A, we proved tonight that we can play with anyone. The Garrett Sectional has 3 state ranked teams, but we didn't let that intimidate us. We eventually fell in Overtime to Leo by the score of 54-52.
This game was everything it was built up to be. It was a battle. The Garrett "Fifth Man" was a big part of our effort tonight. I would match our fans and student section against anyone, anywhere, anytime. With their support and or senior leadership this was a classic matchup. We shot 42% from the field and 71% from the 3point line. Leo shot 40% across the board.  Laura Moynahan did a great job holding Keeana Gary of Leo to only 12 points. That was Laura's only job and she played it perfectly. Jordyn Knott also had a magnificent night with the double double (12 points and 11 rebounds). She also kept Gary in check. Katie DePew had 14 points and 6 assists. Her leadership during this game and the entire season will be missed next year. I am not sure I have seen anyone as competitive or anyone who lays it all on the line every single game, like she does.

Then you have Brandi Dawson. She was possessed. Her effort was phenomenal. She had 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. She's only a sophomore!

Congrats to the entire team on a great season and the continuation of a Proud Railroader Program. Thank you to the Coaching staff for all their hours and the athletes for their dedication. We are Proud no matter what! Now I can't wait 'til next year.
