ACAC BOYS/GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
The ACAC tournament is a truly "Throwback" event. The Boys tournament is the second longest running tournament. It's second only to the IHSAA Sectional tournament. That's pretty good company. It's also throwback because of how it is supported by the ACAC communities. For 89 years this tournament has been a great display of whatt is GREAT about High School Athletics.
This week the Garrett Railroaders will give everything they have to win on Tuesday and make it to the Coliseum on Wednesday and Thursday. Here is the Schedule:
Tuesday - Girls and Boys play at Leo. The Girls will play first and tip-off at 6pm. The Boys game will follow the Girls game and start at approximately 7:30pm.
Wednesday - The Girls Semi-Finals will be played at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum. With a victory on Tuesday, the Girls would play the 7:30pm game on Wednesday.
Thursday - The Boys Semi-Finals will be played at the Coliseum. With a victory on Tuesday, they would also play the second game and tip-off at approximately 7:30pm.
Saturday - The ACAC Championship games will be played at the Memorial Coliseum on Saturday. The Girls would play at 10am. The Boys would play at 12noon.
Cost for all games are $5 each night. No Big Train tickets or conference passes will be accepted.
WRESTLING
The improving Railroader Wrestling team will travel to Heritage High School Friday Night for it's final ACAC regular season match. The wrestling will begin at 6:30pm.
Garrett Wrestling will host it's very first Wrestling Invitational this coming Saturday. The Bateman Gym will be site for 10 area teams to wrestle for both individual and team honors. Dekalb, Dwenger, East Noble, Garrett, Jay County, Lincolnview Ohio, Northrop, Norwell, Southside, and Wayne High Schools will all wrestle in this first Invitational at GHS. We have hosted the ACAC tournament on several occasions, and the middle school tournament also. But this will be the first ever regular season invitational. We are hoping this grows to at least 16 teams. If you are interested in watching great wrestling, come out to watch on Saturday. Wrestling begins at 9am.
We are looking forward to a great week at GHS. Good Luck Railroaders! Roll Big Train!
