5-0

Another great night for Lady Railroader Basketball.  The team rebounded from a great performance against Dekalb by defeating a very good Angola Lady Hornet team.  It wasn't about offense tonight. The Railroaders only scored 39 points against a very quick and challenging Angola defense. But, the Garrett defense only gave up 31 points. The Lady Hornets shot a low 29% from the field and were only 2 for 5 from the free throw line. On the other hand the Railroaders shot 55% from the field but also were 9 for 11 from the free throw line.

Last year at this point in the season the Girls had 3 tough losses already. They have now avenged two of those 3 losses and will have to wait until February to avenge the 3rd loss against East Noble. Everyone on this team is contributing to the success and we continue to step up against the tough competition.

Next up the Woodlan Warriors in the first ACAC contest of the year. The Lady Warriors have an experienced team and the Lady Railroaders have to face them on the road.

The Boys get there first test of the year tomorrow night when the Eastside Blazers visit the Paul Bateman Gymnasium to open the 2010-2011 season. I am really looking forward to the continued improvement of the young railroader basketball program.  The Game begins at 6pm.  Good Luck Railroaders!
