I mean no disrespect to our Football Team and the Coaches. But, I don't get much time to mourn the end of a season. I love competition and what it does to help our student-athletes grow. We grow through wins and losses. I feel for the Coaches and players, especially the seniors. I saw so many tears last night from our players. They love football. Most of them (Seniors) will never participate in a competitive football game every again. I also saw tears from our juniors and sophomores. They also know their games are dwindling. Time travels so fast! The only advice I can give is work as hard as you can right now. Enjoy the moment right now. Don't let there be any regrets when it comes to working hard and preparation.
This is really no different than life. When we experience a loss, whether it be a job, or the death of a family member, or some other situation, you go through the same process. But, you also don't have a lot of time to mourn the loss. Time stands still for no one! I'm sure you have heard the saying "Seize the moment!" That includes all areas of your life. Take time to enjoy your family and friends. Get involved at school, in your community, with the love of your life. Get passionate about something and live like there is no tomorrow! Don't waste your time devoted to destruction decisions. Don't devote yourselves to things that will bring you down. Spend time Loving God, then your Family, then your friends!
All Winter Sports will be in season beginning tomorrow. The Girls Basketball team begins their season this week on the road. They will begin the season on Tuesday at Churubusco and then travel to Lakewood Park as the Lady Panthers are added to the schedule. Wrestling practice began this past Monday, and the Boys Basketball team begins practice this Monday. Good Luck to all the Players, Coaches and Fans. If you want to know the schedule. You can see it on www.highschoolsports.net . The schedule cards are in the high school office but as always highschoolsports.net is the best way to stay up-to-date. Many schools will change schedules of freshman or jv games depending on how many athletes they have. Also, if we have game cancellations or practice changes they will also be posted on that site. As always, you can also get to these sites through this blog or the school website. www.gkb.k12.in.us
Good Luck Railroaders in the NEW SEASON!
