It is great to see an athletic program never really rebuild. The faces and the names change, but the winning tradition continues. It's Bob Lapadot instead of Dan Feagler and the cast of characters always has new faces, but the Railroaders rolled to another season opening victory against the Lady Eagles of Churubusco 43-28. Once again the offense was good but the defense was the best. The Lady Railroaders only gave up 9 first half points and came out in the third quarter with the same defensive intensity.
Brandi Dawson led the team with 11 points. Katie Depew had 9pts. Laura Moynahan 8pts., Jordyn Knott 8pts., and Becca Oliver 7pts. Katie DePew had 4 steals.
It is great to see the Railroader Basketball crowd support the girls teams. The JV team was impressive with a come from behind win from a very young team. This program is solid and it will be fun to see them develop as the season progresses.
Next up, the Lakewood Park Lady Panthers. Come out Thursday Night to support the girls as the season progresses!
