W-Ugly!

I am coining a new phrase. W-ugly. Winning-Ugly = W-Ugly. We won tonight. We defeated Prairie Heights girls basketball team by the final score of 47-41. A win is a win even if it's a little ugly. Really, Prairie Heights battled tonight and hustled throughout the entire game. They were in it to the very end. But, the Lady Railroaders had just enough to pull off the win. Garrett had 16 turnovers and PH had 15. Garrett was 13 of 21 at the free throw line to barely beat the Panthers  who shot 11-20. Finally Garrett was able to shoot 47% from the field while Prairie Heights shot only 38%. But, throughout the game it felt like we were losing and we had he lead for nearly the entire game. We just couldn't get into a rhythm and Prairie Heights had a lot to do with that. 

The leading scorer for the Lady Railroaders was Brandi Dawson who had 10 of her game high 14 points in the second half. Katie DePew was the only other Railroader in double figures. She ended with 10 points.

The girls take on ACAC rival Leo on Saturday night at Leo. This is a very important ACAC game and the Lady Railroaders will have to play well to beat the always tough Lady Lions! Good Luck!
