The Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed in the South Adams Small School Cross Country Invitational today in Berne. The girls finished 9th out of 22 teams but they were only 14 points out of 5th place. We ran well. Amanda Stump led the team with a 15th place finish but the Senior Leadersip of Ariel McCoy finished right behind her in 16th. Ariel is doing a great job pushing the young freshman. That always is a good thing for a CC team.. Other placers for the GHS was Jaron Somers in 6th, Kendall Slabaugh finished 24th. The boys were short a runner so they did not have enough to place a team.
I don't usually give middle school information, but my granddaughter who is an 8th grader at SA Finished 8th just behind Garrett's number one runner, Miranda Malcolm who finished 6th. Also placing for GHS Middle school girls was Raistlyn Lehman. She finished 13th. To give justice to the middle school boys, Garrett Middle Schools Micha Malcolm finished 12th. My Grand daughter is running in her first season and she is an amazing young lady, learning how to run. (I think I might be a little biased!)
We had no other teams competing today BUT, I do know the GHS Railroader Regiment placed at District and qualified for Regionals. Congrats to the Railroader Marching Regiment! We are proud of you. I don't have the details, but know they will move on!
