IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (10-3-11) "Promoting education-based athletics in Indiana"

Do you know the rules of your sport?  Are you aware of any rule changes from last year?  Does your coach go over the changes with you?

In last year's PGA Championship, professional golfer Dustin Johnson was eliminated from a playoff because of a rules violation.  He was aware of the rule but interpreted it incorrectly during the last hole of the match.

While your high school coaches are there to help you with the rules, it's your responsibility as a student-athlete to know them and how to apply them.  Be sure you know the critical rules of your sport.  It can only benefit you and your team!
