That is certainly true about the Garrett vs Angola game tonight in the Bateman Gym. The score was tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter. Coach Bodey was not going to let the result be the same as our Fremont game. His determination and constant "Prodding" of the Railroaders turned things around with a good second quarter. Garrett ended the half with a 25-21 lead. The defense really picked up, holding the Hornets to just 15 second half points and the boys had 36. Really if you look at the first, third, and fourth quarters Garrett held Angola to under double digits each quarter.
We didn't have a great shooting night, (just like at Fremont), but our defense was solid and carried us to the final score of 61 - 36. We only shot 37% from the field. However, we held Angola to only 25% shooting. Garrett was a great 19-21 from the charity stripe. Neither team turned the ball over. Garrett had only 7 turnovers and Angola had 11. The Railroaders had 3 players in double figures. Drake Landes had 17 points, Logan Casselman had 12 points, and Todd Frickey had 10. Drake and Todd both had 5 rebounds.
The Railroaders head to Christmas Break with a great 5 wins and 2 losses. Coach Bodey and the team will take a few days off to enjoy the Christmas Holiday before getting ready for Central Noble on January 5th. That game will also be home in the Bateman Gym. Go Railroaders!
