Losses are tough on everybody!

I don't take losses like I should. I am way to competitive for my own good. When we lose to a team that's better than us, I can deal with that. On Wednesday, we should have beaten South Bend St. Joseph. But, they were like us. If we played them 50 times, we would win our share. Leo, Dekalb, Angola are all good teams. There's no shame in getting beat by a good team. The loss tonight was not one of those losses. As I was cleaning up after the game, Coach Clifford said the same thing. He hates to lose. Wether he's playing, coaching, or watching, he hates to lose.

The 4-11 New Haven Lady Bull Dogs out played the Lady Railroaders tonight and defeated us on our home floor 37-33. It was our 5th loss and New Havens 5th win. Neither team shot the lights out tonight. New Haven shot only 33% but the Lady Railroaders only shot 21% for the game. The only good news of the night is we only had 8 turnovers. But, we couldn't make a layup, or any other shot for that matter, if our lives depended on it. We only shot 58% from the Free Throw line.

It's going to take some time to forget about this one. Really, I hope we don't forget about it. We're a good team. But, if we don't play the game at our level of talent, ANYONE CAN BEAT US! I remember a sectional game a few years ago where we almost got beat by a team we were clearly better than. WE had to pull off the win with a little luck. Tonight, we didn't play well and we lost to a team we're clearly better than. We didn't get lucky this time.

So, what do we do now? It's up to the players and coaches. Every  win and every loss is a TEAM EXPERIENCE. Every player and coach own part of the loss tonight. Where do we go from here? We get our chance next Friday Night at home. Bluffton comes to the Bateman Gym.
