Garrett traveled north to Fremont tonight for a midweek Boys Basketball game vs the Eagles. I haven't gotten the stats and will post them later. But, I can tell you we did not have a good shooting night from the field or from the Free Throw line. We were defeated by Fremont 60-46. They are not better than us. But, tonight they were. We got open shots during the first half, but couldn't get them to fall. We also got into some foul trouble in the first half which put us in a bit of hole. The second half we made a great run and got the score to within 4 points, just into the Fourth Quarter. We went cold again the last part of the quarter. Garrett was led by Brandon Porter who had 15 points. Drake Landes (8 points) and Joe Martin (3 points) had off nights and just couldn't get the shots to fall. Even the best of shooters have an off night. Quentin Fiandt had 8 points also. We shot only 32% from the field and 57% from the free throw line. We committed 16 turnovers and 26 fouls to Fremont's 9 turnovers and 19 fouls. Fremont's Jacob Bryant had a career night with 23 points. Their leading scorer was held to just 11 points.
The Railroaders are out of action until next Wednesday night when we travel to Bellmont to take on the Braves. That will be another tough test for the Railroaders. The JV and Freshman TIp-off is at 6:15pm not the usual 6pm start. Good Luck, we need to bounce back and get another win!
